FOUR!!!

Who's cuter than a bug's ear? Who lights up a room with her dimpled smile? Who has been reminding us that she was turning "4" since Christmas?

MIRIAM FAITH!!!

We had almost a full week of celebration. Her cousin Tenaya spent the week with us. We had her open her gifts and choose her breakfast on Tuesday morning because we were heading for Cambria and didn't want to haul it all there. Then Wednesday, she got to plan her day and choose her meals (and dessert all to herself ). She met and befriended a little girl that was also 4 at Shamel Park. We came back on Thurs. and she opened her cards. Friday, MeeMaw brought her gift and card and we had a few calls of Happy Birthday singing.

Happy Easter!!

What a beautiful, warm, Spring day we had for Easter. We started out with church and a fun lil' egg hunt after, then went home so Levi could get a little nap before the festivities over at my aunt's house. Arrived there in time for another egg hunt where my uncle systematically camouflaging the 200+ eggs (greenery where the green eggs were, purple flowers hid the purple eggs, etc.) Needless to say, after about an hour and even the hider trying to find the remaining eggs, we all decided to call it good and enjoy a wonderful potluck dinner prepared by my aunt (mostly), her mom, my cousin Stacy, my mom and myself. All in all, it was a perfect day to remember the sacrifice our Lord made and how much we have to be grateful for and reason for CELEBRATING.

Levi's One!!!

Today Levi turned "one". I can't believe it. The year has truly flown by. All day today I kept thinking about last year.

It was by far my BEST delivery ever (as far as deliveries go). Woke up around 6a.m. feeling like this might be it. Told John to go ahead and go to work and I'd let him know if the contractions kept going. Pretty much did a normal school day. Around 10:00, I called a friend while I was hanging laundry and gave her my symptoms and she confirmed that yes I probably was in labor. It really wasn't too intense and I really didn't want to "hang out" at the hospital. So, I finished Isaac's school for the day and called John around 11:30 and said it may be a good idea to come home at lunch. By the time he got home at 12:30 I was starting to get uncomfortable so we all had a quick lunch and headed down to Fresno (an hour away). We got to our dear friends the Wests (who were going to keep the kids) around 2:00 and decided not to delay and head to the hospital. I still kept thinking that my body would suddenly stop doing things since that had always been the pattern. I was sooo worried that all the work I'd been doing would amount to nothing once I got to the hospital and they measured me. I was checked and was quickly admitted (much to my surprise and joy). I decided to get an epidural because things were getting very tough and I still thought I would just stay in limbo (who says you forget your previous deliveries?). I began to fill paperwork out and then the dr. came in and said there wouldn't be time for that. This guy obviously wasn't familiar with my track record (he wasn't my dr.). But after he broke my water and got things ready I began to agree with him. It went incredibly fast!!! 3 pushes and we had our little guy at 4:03p.m. I can't tell you what a rush that was ( painful? OH YEAH!) but nothing like the others. It was actually kind of empowering.

Now I have this awesome little addition to our home that has made me feel like I am a great Mommy. He is sweet, big, loveable and completes us. He continues to live up to his name and we are all enamored by him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEVI!!!

Levi's Officially Walking!!!

Well, actually, he's been "official" for about 2wks. now but you can read my previous post to find out why I didn't just hop right to the camera and the computer and record this momentous occassion. Believe me I wish I could have! Better late than never. I just love his "just-got-off-the-horse" strut. He's so fast already. Let me tell you, it made being sick that much harder trying to keep up with him. I still can't believe my baby is walking. :(

THE FLU!!!

Need I say more? I'm even typing in a "fluish" color.
The last two weeks have had everyone of the Rumohr family sick. Everyone includes ME!! Why?! Why does the Mommy get sick? We're the ones that take care of everyone else, we're the ones that cook, clean, nurse, launder, shop, schedule, do the bills, make and return phone calls and emails, and (if you homeschool), school. We can't call for a substitute or even just call in sick and know that what you left would be that way when you returned.
Well, I'll tell you, if evolution was a fact, Mommies would NOT get sick. We would've evolved into germ-proof beings or maybe the ultimate bacteria-fighter where we would not only fight off bacteria efficiently and thoroughly in our own bodies but those of our family as well.
I've also always felt that if evolution were true, we would sprout an extra arm for every baby we have after the 2nd one. But that's a discussion for another time.

About Me

My photo
I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mom to four beautiful children and wife to my dream man who I am completely in love with. I love God and am in the process of learning rather recently (I'm sorry to say) that I can do no good thing apart from Him.
