We got off the train in Portland and rented a car because of the train schedule and wanting to visit others on the way to our dear friend, Jenny, decided to drive the rest of the way up to Bayview.
We stopped at one of the visitor centers for Mt. St. Helen's. We watched a film documentary, it was amazing. God's power is frightening.

Outside the visitor center was a little nature walk, it was too cloudy to see the Mt. but the foliage and wild flowers and birds were amazing.

We arrived at Jen's just in time for a wonderful dinner. Jenny's 2 children (Ben-almost 4 and Ruthie-almost 2) welcomed us warmly and we had a hard time saying goodnight (not just because the sun stays up until 10pm).
More adventures to come.
